A Scottish Christmas edition by Roxanne Rustand Religion Spirituality eBooks Reviews
I actually liked the story pretty well but the storyline about the girl's birth parents was pretty hard to swallow. After all, since when are 47 and 51 old? The description of her father as old at 51...really?
A young woman surprised by an inheritance from an unknown relative in Scotland finds far more than she expected when she goes to settle the estate around Christmas
Like another reviewer below, I too enjoyed the story but was puzzled about the age of the parents given that the father was only 19 when Lucy was conceived he couldn't have been an old sick retired man when Lucy found him. Perhaps the author just forgot to check thise details! I did think the house and its contents was a bit too good to be true but that's just a personal thing and I did enjoy the storyline and the characters, and would definitely read more by this author.
This is the 1st book I read by Roxanne Rustand. I'm sorry I stopped reading this story at chapter 5 because it didn't grab my interest.
This was indeed a sweet book
but the math did not and I mean in any way add up
her father was nineteen thirty years before, as far as I can calculate that would make him forty-nine, fifty at oldest which is by no mean an old man and far from being at risk of dying at the smallest shock.
Appart from that I immensely enjoyed the story )
I loved this story that was in the "Sweet Christmas Kisses, Fourteen Novella's collection. I love the romances from other parts of the world. This one was so cute. Lucy receives a letter and money to come to this quaint Scotland town to receive an inheritance. She finds it is a B&B and would like to just do what is asked to receive the inheritance and then sell it. Until she falls in love with the B&B, the ladies that run in and the quirky, handsome author who lives in the cabin next to the house. I loved how the story developed, the characters and the ending. I guess the only thing I would have liked, is that they would have went into more detail of the area, the house and the culture.
I would give this one more stars if they were available. I LOVED this story. A young American woman goes to Scotland to settle the estate of her late aunt. An aunt she never knew she had. There were things in the past her mother never shared with her but she never knew what was in the past. She just knew that her mother left Scotland and never returned and there were hard feelings with her family.
She arrives in Scotland thinking that the estate would entail a small cottage and some trinkets from her aunt's life. The lawyer said she had to come to Scotland in order to inherit. After she gets there she finds the estate is way more than she ever dreamed it could be and there is a stipulation that she must remain in Scotland in the home for 30 days. Now it gets juicy... She meets a young professor living in one of the cottages writing a textbook. He is yummy beyond words but a chance encounter had him being unreasonably rude so she really wants nothing to do with him.
Well, we know that changes. This is their love story. She finds more secrets to her family than she dreamed possible. There are things that have changed who she is. She finds new people in her life that she never thought possible to find. I could not put this book down. I loved it and hated to see it end. I loved all the secrets and things from the past that came forth.
I definitely recommend this book. It was a wonderful read and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It did not have any heavy sex scenes, in fact no sexy scenes at all - even though you would be wishing there were some!!! But they do get their HEA. Fun book. Loved it.
This was a delightful, quick read.
